SENIOR MANAGER. STRATEGIC & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
About the job SENIOR MANAGER. STRATEGIC & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive and partner on terminal productivity performance — work hand-in-hand with the Execution Managers to close the gap between planned and actual: vessel moves executed, GMPH/PMPH targets, shift consistency, chasing down the root causes when they slip and driving the corrective action.
- Lead operations improvement, digital transformation, and process standardisation initiatives that directly lift productivity, safety, and service delivery — standardising working methods across shifts so execution teams have one consistent playbook to hit KPI targets.
- Manage and oversee cross-functional projects, ensuring effective planning, resource allocation, risk management, and successful implementation — with productivity and operational KPI impact as the measure of success, not just on-time delivery of the project itself.
- Drive change management, stakeholder engagement and capability development with Execution Managers and their teams to ensure new tools, systems and ways of working are adopted on the ground and translate into measurable productivity gains.
- Oversee departmental governance — audits, assets, finance, contracts, facilities, records and administrative controls — ensuring the operation has the resources, systems and clean data it needs to execute and perform without friction.
- Ensure compliance with safety, security, regulatory, ISO, audit and company governance requirements, working alongside execution teams so compliance strengthens operational delivery.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the superior from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Professional certification in Project Management, Lean Six Sigma, Change Management or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with strong presentation and facilitation capabilities.
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in terminal operations, operations transformation, project management, or process improvement, including 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in leading cross-functional initiatives and delivering measurable operational improvements.
- Strong knowledge of Terminal Operating Systems (TOS), operational processes, performance management and change implementation management.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
