Job Summary:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will focus on research and development, rapid prototyping, rigorous testing (including destructive testing), and the re-engineering of new and existing products. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands-on development, solving complex problems, and improving products through real-world testing.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and model mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks
Create parts using sheet metal, injection-molded plastics, and machined components
Apply design for manufacturing (DFM) principles to ensure efficient and cost-effective production
Engineer mechanical systems with moving parts, such as levers, cams, pulleys, belts, and motors
Develop mechanisms similar to folding beds, strollers, or industrial automation systems
Build and test working prototypes in-househands-on approach is essential
Perform mechanical testing, stress testing, and destructive testing to validate performance and durability
Collaborate with electrical engineers and production teams to ensure product integration and manufacturability
Document designs, revisions, BOMs, and testing procedures throughout development
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical product design
Proficiency with SolidWorks and strong understanding of CAD best practices
Experience designing with sheet metal, injection molding, and traditional manufacturing methods
Familiarity with motors, belts, cams, pulleys, and other motion mechanisms
Demonstrated ability to design and prototype machinery with moving parts
Strong mechanical intuition and creative problem-solving skills
Must be comfortable with hands-on assembly, troubleshooting, and iterative testing
Knowledge of design for manufacturing (DFM) principles
Passion for golf or familiarity with sports equipment is a plus
