About the job Section Head Refractory
Location: Jizan Plant - KSA
Manages and directs the activities of Refractory Section. Plans and supervises the consumption, cost, efficiency and quality of refractory materials. Investigates and monitors performance, analyses issues within the process with respect to refractory consumption, identifies and implements corrective actions where necessary.In addition, giving support for new projects to Project Management (in case) concerning deficiencies and warranty claims with the Project Contractor.
DescriptionProcesses and Production Schedule Oversight Allocates tasks to the Refractory Engineer, assign resources to shifts, and monitor the employee performance and activity in the refractory Evaluate the performance and fill the appraisal of Refractory Engineer, review and approve the appraisals of foremen and technicians. Participates in rolling mills and technical project work related to refractory section Evaluate and study with the refractory along melt shop specialists for new technologies and conduct initial assessment of feasible options Assist refractory supervisor in reviewing and updating material standard Monitor the quality of products exiting the refractory and ensure compliance with company standards Supervise and coordinate refractory stock, flow and material consumption and ensure efficiency and optimization of usage patterns Supervises and coordinates trials for cost savings and quality improvements within the refractory area Ensures that the refractory operations do not constitute a bottle neck for steelmaking operations Coordinate maintenance activities with the maintenance department for Shell changes etc. and plant major shut down to ensure minimum down time
Financial Oversight Define the refractory annual budget figures Manage spending against budget and in relation to changes in production volume Approve essential personnel requirements for refractory staff like safety items, overtime, vacations, shift changes, training, etc.
Reporting and Manuals Prepare monthly material consumption report and suggest ways to reduce the consumption in coordination with the refractory supervisor Responsible for coordinating and conducting section trials Follow up, evaluation, and reporting on trial material with coordination of refractory Engineer and process engineer Assist refractory Engineer in reviewing and updating material standard Review and update the ISO-Documents and forms

Ensures comprehension of safe working practices and checks compliance with the Company's policy and procedures Ensure that all employees pursue the HSE training Proactively pursue personal training opportunities to deepen subject matter expertise and managerial skills Assure that employee grievances are addressed in a timely fashion
Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:QUALIFICATIONS: Engineering Degree (Metallurgical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering preferred). EXPERIENCE: 10+ years experience in refractory services or in a senior level in a similar steel manufacturing environment
