Reporting to the Superintendent - IT, the Senior Engineer Information Technology (IT) will assist in project management and the delivery of technical services to various IT sections and other departments within the organization. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, leadership, and collaboration skills to ensure efficient and effective IT operations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist the IT Superintendent in managing and successfully delivering IT projects from inception to
  • completion.
  • Provide advanced technical support and services to various IT sections and other departments.
  • Develop and implement IT strategies, policies, and procedures in collaboration with the IT
  • Superintendent.
  • Conduct regular system audits and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and network issues, providing guidance to IT staff
  • members.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend
  • improvements.
  • Coordinate with vendors and external partners for procurement and maintenance of IT equipment and
  • services.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, documentation, and project updates to the IT Superintendent
  • and other stakeholders.
  • Provide technical services and solutions for communication systems, ensuring optimal performance,
  • reliability, and uptime.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT engineering or a related role.
  • Strong project management and implementation skills.
  • Deep understanding of the IT platforms and systems had on mining site and quickly analyse gaps
  • and develop practical IT improvement plan.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, MCSE, or ITIL are preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, network management, and system administration.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
  • 4+ years of experience in the mining, industrial, or construction industries.
  • Experience in installing software, patches, updates on Desktops, Laptops, Servers.
  • 4+ years of experience supporting LAN and WAN network technologies, including configuration,
  • monitoring, and troubleshooting of desktop/notebook hardware and software.
  • Ability to recognize, analyse, and effectively solve problems in a timely and organized manner using
  • industry best practices and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple incidents and meet deadlines with a patient and methodical
  • approach.
