Job Summary
The Marketing Director is responsible for developing and executing the overall marketing strategy for the hypermarket business. This role drives customer acquisition, retention, brand positioning, promotional campaigns, loyalty programs, digital marketing, and in-store marketing initiatives to maximize sales, market share, and customer satisfaction. The Marketing Director works closely with merchandising, operations, e-commerce, finance, and suppliers to deliver integrated marketing programs that support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement the annual marketing strategy aligned with business objectives.
- Build the marketing budget and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
- Identify market opportunities through customer insights and competitive analysis.
- Lead brand development and ensure consistent brand identity across all channels.
- Develop long-term customer growth and retention strategies.
Campaign & Promotion Management
- Plan and execute seasonal campaigns, promotions, and major retail events.
- Coordinate promotional calendars with merchandising and category management.
- Measure campaign effectiveness and optimize future activities.
- Manage supplier-funded marketing campaigns and co-marketing initiatives.
Customer & Loyalty Programs
- Develop customer segmentation strategies.
- Manage loyalty and rewards programs to increase repeat purchases.
- Improve customer engagement through personalized marketing.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and recommend improvement initiatives.
Digital Marketing & E-commerce
- Lead digital marketing across:
- Social media
- Search marketing (SEO/SEM)

- Support omnichannel initiatives connecting online and offline shopping experiences.
- Drive online customer acquisition and conversion.
In-Store Marketing
- Oversee POS materials and in-store communication.

- Improve customer experience through effective retail communication.
Brand Management
- Maintain a strong and consistent corporate brand.
- Develop private label branding strategies.
- Manage public relations and corporate communications.

Market Research & Analytics
- Analyze customer behavior and shopping trends.
- Monitor competitor pricing, promotions, and marketing activities.
- Conduct market research and consumer studies.

Team Leadership
- Lead and develop the marketing department.

Vendor & Agency Management
- Manage relationships with advertising, media, digital, and creative agencies.

Qualifications

Experience
- 10–15 years of progressive marketing experience.
- At least 5 years in a senior marketing leadership role within hypermarkets, supermarkets, retail, FMCG, or large consumer businesses.
- Proven experience managing multi-channel marketing campaigns.
- Strong background in loyalty programs, retail promotions, and omnichannel marketing.
