Job Responsibilities:

The Trade Operator in physical bulk commodities will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of trades, ensuring seamless logistics, contract compliance, and efficient transaction management.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating and managing transactions from inception to completion, ensuring smooth execution.
  • Preparing and reviewing sales and purchase contracts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to trade terms.
  • Coordinating shipment logistics, vessel nominations, and laytime calculations for timely deliveries.
  • Managing trade documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, letters of credit, and customs paperwork.
  • Liaising with suppliers, customers, shipping agents, and internal teams to ensure smooth trade flow.
  • Monitoring and enforcing contract terms, Incoterms, and regulatory compliance.
  • Tracking cargo movements, resolving operational issues, and optimizing supply chain efficiency.
  • Communicating with finance teams to ensure accurate invoice and timely payment processing.
  • Managing claims, demurrage, and trade-related disputes effectively.
  • Staying updated on market trends, freight rates, and regulatory changes affecting global trade.

Job Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in physical bulk commodity operations (e.g., metals, energy, agriculture, or dry bulk).
  • Strong knowledge of trade execution, contract management, and shipping logistics.
  • Experience in creating and managing transactions from beginning to end.
  • Understanding of Incoterms, trade finance instruments, and international trade regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills in a fast-paced trading
  • environment.
  • Proficiency in trade execution software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
