About the job Head of Engineering & Projects

Job Objective:

Provide strategic leadership and oversight to all engineering, maintenance and project activities to ensure optimal plant performance, continuous improvement, and delivery of capital projects within scope, budget and timelines, while ensuring compliance with cGMP, EHS and corporate standards

Job duties & Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Planning

  • Develop and execute the overall engineering and projects strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Lead multi-year asset management plans and capital expenditure (CAPEX) programs.
  • Set clear departmental KPIs and ensure consistent achievement.

Maintenance & Reliability Management

  • Oversee preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance strategies for all plant equipment (Mixing, Filling & Packaging).
  • Ensure maximum equipment uptime and OEE improvements through advanced reliability engineering practices.
  • Approve annual maintenance budgets, spare parts forecasts, and inventory planning.

Capital Projects & Engineering Development

  • Lead the planning, execution and commissioning of all plant expansion, modification, and improvement projects.
  • Ensure robust project management processes (scope, cost, schedule, risk) are applied.
  • Review technical specifications, evaluate offers, and approve new equipment selection.
  • Oversee FAT & SAT for new machines and systems.

Compliance & Standards

  • Ensure all engineering activities comply with cGMP, EHS regulations, corporate policies, and sustainability goals.
  • Drive lean manufacturing, energy conservation and waste reduction initiatives.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Build, develop and mentor a high-performing engineering team.
  • Allocate resources and manage succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Financial & Reporting

  • Own engineering and project budgets, ensuring cost optimization.
  • Prepare and present regular performance and project progress reports to senior management.

Qualifications (Education, Work Experience, Skills and licensing or Certification Required):

  • Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or related Engineering field
  • Language: Very Good English Language proficiency.
  • Computer: Good Computer skills proficiency.
  • Years of Experience: Minimum 15 years experience in Engineering, Maintenance & Project Management within Cosmetics, Pharmaceuticals, or FMCG industries.
