Position Summary

The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) is the senior executive responsible for leading all commercial activities, marketing, business development, and strategic planningacross Alexandria Container & Cargo Handling Companys port and terminal operations.

The CCO drives sustainable revenue growth, fosters relationships with shipping lines, logistics providers, and cargo owners, and implements strategies that ensure competitive and efficient cargo and container handling services, all in alignment with operational capabilities and long-term port development plans.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Commercial Leadership

Formulate and execute a commercial strategy directly aligned with the realities and future trends of

port and terminal operations, including vessel calls, throughput capacity, and supply chain evolution.

Coordinate all commercial functions (Sales, Marketing, Strategic Planning) with port operations,

ensuring integrated commercial and operational planning, berth allocation, and resource

management.

Serve as the executive interface with maritime and port authorities, emphasizing regulatory

compliance and port community engagement.

Balancing commercial growth with terminal capacity, berth availability, and cargo handling efficiency.

Sales Management

Oversee the Department of Sales for both Alexandria Containers Terminal and Dekheila Container

Terminal divisions.

Lead major client negotiations and contract renewals.

Ensure close collaboration between Customer Service, Cargo Control, and related operational

teams.

Lead negotiations with major shipping lines on tariffs and contractual terms, ensuring

competitiveness while safeguarding company revenue.

Conduct in-depth studies of freight rates, discounts, and incentive schemes for strategic clients

(major shipping lines and alliances), balancing customer retention with sustainable profitability.

Evaluate potential special pricing arrangements and discount structures, preparing financial impact

analyses to support executive decision-making.

Marketing & Business Development

Direct the Department of Marketing to strengthen market share and brand image.

Develop targeted campaigns for domestic and international markets.

Expand partnerships with shipping lines, logistics companies, and trade organizations.

Strategic Planning

Oversee the Department of Strategic Planning to identify emerging trends, competitive threats, and

long-term growth opportunities.

Guide investment priorities and service portfolio evolution.

Ensure alignment of business plans with financial and operational capabilities.

Financial & Performance Oversight

Monitor revenue performance against budgets.

Track KPIs include contract value growth, market share, customer satisfaction, and campaign ROI.

Optimize pricing structures for competitive positioning and profitability.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelors degree in business administration, Marketing, Economics, or related discipline.

MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.

Minimum 13 years of senior commercial leadership experience in ports, shipping, logistics, or related

sectors.

Demonstrated success in managing multi-division commercial teams.

Proven ability to negotiate high-value contracts with global stakeholders.

Fluent in English and Arabic (spoken and written).
