Job Title: Floor Manager (Restaurant)
Reports To: General Manager / Restaurant Manager
Job Summary:
The Floor Manager plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring excellent guest service, smooth shift operations, and effective team coordination. They act as a liaison between the front-of-house (FOH) team and upper management, upholding service standards, enforcing policies, and ensuring the overall guest experience is exceptional.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service & Operations:

Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction through efficient and professional service.

Greet and interact with guests to ensure a positive dining experience.

Address and resolve guest complaints or concerns in a timely and effective manner.

Monitor dining areas for cleanliness, ambiance, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
Team Supervision & Support:

Supervise FOH staff during shifts, including servers, hosts, bussers, and bartenders.

Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily goals, menu updates, or special events.

Train new FOH staff and provide ongoing coaching to maintain service excellence.

Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to support growth and improvement.
Shift Management:

Oversee the floor during service to ensure smooth operation and timely table turnover.

Manage staff scheduling, break times, and shift changes as needed.

Coordinate with kitchen staff and bar team to ensure efficient service flow.

Handle opening and closing procedures, including cash-outs and daily reports.
Administrative Duties:

Maintain inventory of FOH supplies and place orders as necessary.

Assist in enforcing company policies, health regulations, and safety procedures.

Contribute to weekly staff meetings and report on operational concerns or successes.
Requirements:

Proven experience in a supervisory or floor management role in a restaurant setting.

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Excellent problem-solving abilities and a guest-first attitude.

Ability to multitask and perform well in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of POS systems and restaurant software (e.g., Toast, OpenTable).

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
