The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment within the facility. This role involves conducting regular inspections, troubleshooting issues, and implementing maintenance strategies to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical failures, implementing effective solutions.
- Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to optimize equipment performance.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards during maintenance activities.
- Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records of repairs and inspections.
- Train and mentor junior maintenance staff on best practices and safety procedures.
Education and Experience
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required. A minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial environment is preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician) are a plus.
