Indian R&D Manager

About the company 

A leading manufacturer of automotive and industrial cooling solutions, is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking R&D Manager to lead and grow its Research & Development function. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical knowledge in heat exchanger systems with strong leadership, innovation capability, and strategic vision to take our R&D department to the next level.

Key Responsibilities:

1. R&D Strategy & Department Leadership

  • Develop and lead the companys R&D roadmap aligned with business growth objectives and market needs.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, and technicians.
  • Drive a culture of innovation, discipline, and continuous improvement across all R&D functions.
  • Scale the department with proper structure, reporting, workflows, and technical capacity.

2. Product Development & Innovation

  • Lead end-to-end product development of radiators, CACs, condensers, and heat exchangers for OEM and aftermarket sectors.
  • Design new products based on customer engine data, application requirements, and export market demands.
  • Supervise prototyping, sampling, testing, and validation processes for new product launches.
  • Ensure BOM creation, costing input, and engineering documentation are completed to spec.

3. Technical Expertise & Compliance

  • Provide design direction and technical review on aluminum, copper/brass, and bar & plate technologies.
  • Oversee thermal design calculations, CFD/CAE simulation reviews, and lab test protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with international heat exchanger standards for performance, durability, and safety.
  • Operate and oversee usage of R&D test equipment and lab machines.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with Planning, Quality, Sales, and Manufacturing to align development timelines and production readiness.
  • Support business development by providing technical leadership in export and OEM project opportunities.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, customers, and industry partners to accelerate innovation cycles.

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters or Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 1215 years of R&D experience in the radiator, HVAC, or heat exchanger industry.
  • Proven experience in managing full product development cycles from concept to launch.
  • Strong background in heat transfer, thermal design, CFD/CAE, and lab testing methodologies.
  • Hands-on expertise with SolidWorks and other CAD/PLM tools.
  • Demonstrated success in building or scaling an R&D team is a major plus.

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); Arabic is a plus.
