Job Title: Supply Chain Manager  FMCG (Tobacco)

Location: [6th of October industrial zone]

Job Purpose:

The Supply Chain Director will lead and optimize the end-to-end supply chain operations for our tobacco FMCG business. This includes strategic planning, procurement, production, logistics, demand planning, inventory control, and regulatory compliance. The role is pivotal in ensuring operational efficiency, product availability, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with market dynamics and legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement the supply chain strategy aligned with business goals.

  • Lead cross-functional teams across procurement, planning, manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase supply chain efficiency and resilience.

2. Procurement & Supplier Management

  • Oversee sourcing of raw materials and packaging from global and regional suppliers.

  • Ensure supplier performance, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to quality standards.

  • Negotiate strategic contracts and manage supplier relationships.

3. Production & Manufacturing Coordination

  • Align production planning with sales forecasts and inventory targets.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure production schedules meet demand.

  • Optimize throughput and reduce waste or downtime.

4. Demand & Supply Planning

  • Lead demand forecasting and S&OP (Sales & Operations Planning) processes.

  • Monitor market demand trends and ensure adequate inventory coverage.

  • Balance customer service levels with inventory holding costs.

5. Logistics & Distribution

  • Ensure timely delivery of products to distributors, retailers, and markets.

  • Manage 3PL providers and internal logistics teams.

  • Optimize transportation costs and delivery performance.

6. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure adherence to tobacco regulations across the supply chain.

  • Mitigate supply chain risks, including regulatory, geopolitical, and operational risks.

  • Maintain sustainability, health & safety, and ethical sourcing standards.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Inventory turnover and availability

  • Supply chain cost savings

  • Forecast accuracy

  • On-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery rates

  • Supplier performance metrics

  • Compliance and audit scores

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (Masters preferred)

  • Minimum 10 years of supply chain management experience in FMCG, preferably in tobacco, food, beverage, or pharma

  • Strong understanding of tobacco industry regulations (local and international)

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)

  • Demonstrated leadership of large, cross-functional teams

  • Expertise in S&OP, lean manufacturing, and logistics optimization
