Job Summary:
The Installation Manager is responsible for overseeing the installation process of interior projects, ensuring that all work is completed in compliance with the plans and specifications. This role requires strong leadership and project management skills, as the manager will supervise and support junior engineers and workers. The Installation Manager will coordinate with various team members, clients, and stakeholders to ensure that all projects are executed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Supervision:
- Lead, supervise, and support a team of junior engineers and installation workers, ensuring that all installation tasks are executed according to the established plans and specifications.
- Mentor junior engineers, guiding them in their professional development and providing regular performance feedback.
- Assign tasks and provide technical support to junior engineers and workers, ensuring resources and skills align with project needs.
Project Planning and Coordination:
- Collaborate with the project team to prepare initial project plans and timelines, helping set work expectations for the team and clients.
- Oversee the coordination between the installation team and other project stakeholders, including architects, designers, engineers, and contractors, to ensure that the installation aligns with the overall project goals.
Installation Oversight:
- Monitor the progress of on-site work, conducting regular site visits to review completed work and ensure it adheres to design specifications and quality standards.
- Adjust shop drawings as needed, reviewing them to make sure that the work on-site matches the plans.
- Address any on-site issues, ensuring that the team is solving problems quickly and efficiently.
Quality Control and Reporting:
- Prepare reports on the progress of installations, identifying any potential delays or issues and providing solutions.
- Ensure that installation practices meet or exceed safety regulations, construction standards, and customer expectations.
- Review and ensure the proper handling of customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback, working to resolve any issues that arise during the installation process.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Ensure clear communication between the installation team and other departments to guarantee smooth project execution.
- Serve as the point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and managing expectations.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
- Ensure that the installation team follows all health and safety protocols during on-site work.
- Monitor compliance with legal and company standards, ensuring work is completed according to regulations.
Technical Support and Problem-Solving:
- Provide hands-on technical support to junior engineers and workers, offering guidance on complex installation tasks.
- Help troubleshoot technical problems on-site, ensuring that the team resolves issues without compromising quality or timelines.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in interior design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in furniture or interior finishing installation projects, including leadership or management experience.
- Knowledge of construction principles, interior design, and finishing techniques.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project, Excel, and other related software tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members, clients, and contractors effectively.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly and efficiently.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to oversee multiple installation projects simultaneously.
