Job Title: Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a strategic, results-driven Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) to lead and execute the firm's marketing and business development efforts. The CMO will be responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive marketing strategy that supports the firm's growth objectives, enhances its brand positioning, and deepens client engagement across service lines and industries.

The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in professional services marketing ideally within legal, audit, or consulting environments with a strong understanding of how to drive thought leadership, client retention, and new business acquisition in a relationship-driven business.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement a firm-wide marketing and business development strategy aligned with the firms strategic plan.

  • Partner with practice group leaders to create tailored marketing plans for service lines, industry sectors, and key clients.

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing marketing and business development team.

Brand & Communications

  • Oversee brand management, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints (website, proposals, social media, events, collateral).

  • Develop internal and external communications strategies, including PR, media relations, and thought leadership.

  • Guide the creation and distribution of client-facing content (alerts, newsletters, white papers, webinars).

Client Development & Relationship Management

  • Implement and manage client relationship programs (e.g., client feedback programs, key client targeting, alumni relations).

  • Provide strategic input on major proposals, pitches, and RFP responses.

  • Collaborate with partners to identify and pursue cross-selling and upselling opportunities.

Digital Marketing & Analytics

  • Oversee digital marketing initiatives, including website, SEO, SEM, CRM, and email marketing.

  • Use analytics and KPIs to measure campaign effectiveness and inform future strategy.

Events & Sponsorships

  • Direct the planning and execution of firm events, seminars, webinars, and sponsorships.

  • Ensure events support brand objectives and business development goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field; MBA or JD a plus.

  • 10+ years of senior marketing leadership experience in a law firm, audit firm, or other professional services firm.

  • Proven success in strategic planning, branding, digital marketing, and client development.

  • Deep understanding of B2B marketing in a partnership-driven environment.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, InterAction) and marketing platforms.
