About the job Quality Assurance Officer
Educational Qualifications / Certifications :
Faculty of Agriculture (Quality Management) or Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Biology, or a related field.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in Quality Assurance (QA).
- Demonstrated experience with quality assurance processes and systems, particularly in HACCP, ISO 22000, and ISO 9001.
- Additional certification in Highfield Level 3 & 4 is an advantage.
Experience:
- Experience in the Food Industry: within the catering, food processing, or manufacturing industry.
- Experience in Audits and Inspections: Ability to conduct internal and external audits, inspections, and quality assessments to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
- Product Development and Testing: Experience in working closely with production teams during new product development and ensuring products meet all quality standards.
- Documentation and Reporting: Ability to maintain accurate records of testing, inspections, quality control measures, and corrective actions.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding and implementation of quality management systems and standards.
Ability to assess and improve the quality of processes and products.
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Knowledge of Food Safety Standards: Familiarity with local and international food safety standards (e.g., FDA, HACCP, Codex Alimentarius, and GMP).
- Quality Control Techniques: Knowledge of methods to assess and ensure food quality, such as sensory evaluation, taste testing, texture analysis, etc.
- Food Lab Testing: Ability to perform or oversee basic food quality testing (microbial tests, shelf-life testing, chemical testing).
- Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of regulatory requirements related to food labeling, packaging, and traceability.
- Food Production Process Knowledge: Awareness of various food production techniques and processes to identify and prevent contamination or quality issues.
- Able to create Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Work Instructions, and other related documentation.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in identifying quality deviations or potential safety hazards in the production process.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with management, production teams, and external regulatory bodies.
- Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Ability to quickly identify problems and propose solutions to maintain high product quality and compliance.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively across different departments (production, airline services, store etc) to ensure overall product quality.
Problem-Solving Abilities:
- Ability to identify quality issues early and collaborate with production teams to solve them efficiently.
- Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action planning to improve quality processes.
Language Proficiency Level:
Ideally, the candidate should be at least intermediate in English (B1/B2 level), with the ability to communicate in both verbal and written forms.
Working Requirements:
Ability to work across three shifts.
Flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
