Job Summary:

The Quality Control Manager ensures that all railway infrastructure, rolling stock, and operations comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company quality policies. This role involves overseeing inspection processes, leading quality audits, developing quality assurance protocols, and working with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in safety, performance, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality control procedures, standards, and specifications for railway projects and operations.

  • Supervise quality inspections on railway tracks, rolling stock, signaling systems, electrical works, and civil infrastructure.

  • Conduct root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for any quality-related issues or non-conformities.

  • Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and safety teams to ensure compliance with local and international railway standards (e.g., UIC, ISO, AAR, EN).

  • Lead internal and external audits, including ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and regulatory inspections.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, test reports, and audit findings.

  • Train staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.

  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure materials and workmanship meet quality requirements.

  • Monitor project quality metrics and generate reports for senior management.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality control within the railway, transportation, or heavy infrastructure sector.

  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and railway-specific regulations.

  • Certification in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, CQE, ISO Lead Auditor) is a plus.

  • Proficient in using quality inspection tools and reporting software.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and analytical skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage a team across multiple locations/projects.
