Job Title: Chef de Partie

Reports to: Sous Chef / Head Chef
Department: Kitchen

Job Summary

The Chef de Partie is responsible for overseeing a particular section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, fish, sauce, pastry). They ensure food is prepared to the highest standard and help train and supervise junior staff (Commis Chefs) working in their area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes within your section.

  • Ensure all food preparation meets standards and is delivered on time.

  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by following hygiene regulations.

  • Monitor stock and place orders as needed.

  • Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in developing new dishes and menus.

  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff.

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area.

  • Minimize waste and manage resources effectively.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a similar role within a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen.

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional qualification preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene regulations.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Leadership and team management skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment.

  • Creativity and passion for food.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.

  • Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Requires standing for extended periods and handling hot equipment or sharp tools.
