About the job Staff Nurse - dialysis
Fundamental Responsibility:
1. Patient Evaluation and Readiness.
2. Perform comprehensive pre-dialysis evaluations, encompassing vital signs, weight, and examination of
medical history.
3. Assess vascular access (arteriovenous fistula, graft, or catheter) for patency and any consequences.
4. Instruct patients and cooperate with the team on dialysis protocols, anticipated results, and selfmanagement.
5. Records all administered treatments, incident reports, and complications.
6. Prepare and position patients for dialysis treatment, maintaining their comfort and dignity.
Set up, prime, and operate dialysis machines according to prescribed protocols. Initiate, monitor, and terminate dialysis treatments, maintaining strict adherence to infection control
measures. Administer prescribed medications, such as anticoagulants, as needed throughout the treatment. Monitor patients responses to therapy, identifying and addressing any adverse reactions or
complications. Continuously monitor vital signs, fluid balance, and patient well-being during dialysis sessions. Recognize early signs of complications, such as hypotension, bleeding, or infection, and intervene
appropriately
