About the job Electrical Primary Design Section Head
Job Responsibilities:
Manage the development, review, and issuance of primary design deliverables,
including single line diagrams, schematics, layouts, equipment arrangements,
and related calculations, in line with project requirements and approved
standards
Supervise the section team in distributing tasks, reviewing outputs, and ensuring
design quality, consistency, and timely completion of all assigned engineering
deliverables.
Coordinate with project management, secondary design, civil, procurement, and
construction teams to ensure proper integration of primary design requirements
with overall project execution.
Review technical specifications, material submittals, vendor documents, and
design drawings to confirm compliance with client requirements, applicable codes,
and company procedures.
Implement design control processes, checklists, and review mechanisms to
maintain drawing accuracy, document control, and compliance with quality
standards.
Support technical discussions with clients, consultants, suppliers, and
subcontractors to resolve design comments, clarifications, and engineering
coordination matters.
Monitor design schedules, section priorities, and workload allocation to ensure
the timely release of design documents in line with project milestones.
Review design changes, technical deviations, and engineering risks, and
recommend practical solutions that maintain safety, functionality, and cost
efficiency.
Coordinate equipment selection and interface requirements for primary systems
to ensure compatibility, constructability, and operational performance.
Prepare and review technical reports, progress updates, and section performance
indicators, highlighting design status, constraints, and corrective actions to
management.
Support tendering and pre-award activities by providing primary design inputs,
technical clarifications, scope reviews, and estimation support when required.
Develop the technical capabilities of section staff through coaching, on-the-job
guidance, and knowledge sharing on design practices, standards, and lessons
learned.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 12 years of experience in primary design and engineering within EPC or
consultancy environments.
AutoCAD, EPLAN or equivalent electrical design tools, ETAP or power system
analysis software, MS Office, document management systems, and project
coordination tools
Deep understanding of EPC project workflows, design integration, and
multidisciplinary coordination.
