Senior Technical Mechanical Engineer

 Job Description:

Role Purpose:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design review, technical coordination, quality assurance, and site supervision of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems. This role requires a deep understanding of engineering standards, construction practices, and multidisciplinary coordination.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead mechanical design coordination with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Review and validate mechanical engineering drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
  • Provide technical oversight during design, procurement, installation, and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
  • Oversee subcontractors work to ensure quality, safety, and schedule adherence.
  • Resolve technical issues that arise during construction and offer innovative solutions.
  • Prepare and review shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
  • Participate in value engineering and cost optimization processes.
  • Support procurement by evaluating technical offers and vendor qualifications.
  • Conduct site inspections and issue non-compliance reports when necessary.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff.


Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering (Masters preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering within the construction industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Proven experience with large-scale commercial, residential, or industrial projects.
  • Familiarity with international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, etc.).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical design tools (e.g., HAP, Duct Sizer).
  • Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent is preferred.
