Overview

Were supporting a rapidly growing SaaS healthcare technology company that is expanding its engineering and product organization as they scale nationally. With increasing demand from health systems and provider groups, they are building a dedicated team focused on interoperability, patient data exchange, and outcomes-based integrations.

We are seeking a Senior EHR Integration Analyst to lead the design, architecture, and execution of fully functional, bi-directional integrations with major EHR platforms. This is a high-impact, senior-level role responsible for shaping integration strategy and partnering closely with engineering, product, sales, and customer success.

This position is fully remote, with Pittsburgh-based candidates strongly preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and guide full API integrations (inbound and outbound) across multiple EHR platforms, including Epic, Cerner, Athena, eClinicalWorks, Allscripts, and others.

  • Lead the end-to-end design of FHIR, HL7, and REST API data exchange workflows.

  • Serve as the subject matter expert during customer onboarding and integration discussions with internal teams and external partners.

  • Define integration requirements, data mapping, event triggers, authentication flows, and workflow logic.

  • Partner with engineering teams to translate integration needs into clear technical specifications (coding not required).

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex interoperability issues related to schema differences, data inconsistencies, API behaviors, and clinical workflow integration.

  • Develop integration standards, documentation, repeatable frameworks, and best practices.

  • Support pre-sales conversations by explaining integration capabilities and requirements to potential customers.

  • Help define and execute the long-term EHR integration roadmap as the company scales.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Deep experience designing and leading two-way EHR integrations using FHIR, HL7, SMART on FHIR, and REST APIs.

  • Strong hands-on background integrating with major EHR systems (Epic strongly preferred, plus any mix of Cerner, Athena, eClinicalWorks, Allscripts, NextGen, etc.).

  • Ability to architect integration patterns and explain technical workflows clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across interoperability layersdata mapping, authentication, API schemas, event triggers, and message structures.

  • Experience with customer-facing technical discussions, discovery sessions, or solution design conversations.

  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows and patient data exchange.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Epic Bridges, Epic Interconnect, App Orchard, Cerner Ignite, or similar vendor frameworks.

  • Experience in a SaaS or digital health environment.

  • Ability to read or understand code in any language (C#, Java, Node.js, Python, etc.).

  • Experience developing integration playbooks or scaling integration programs from early growth to enterprise levels.

  • Knowledge of AWS, cloud architectures, or API testing tools (Postman, Swagger, etc.).
