Overview
We are seeking an experienced Metallurgical Development Lead to serve as a senior technical expert supporting manufacturing, quality, and customer-facing issues in a production-focused environment. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role for a metallurgist who thrives in applied problem-solving and fast-paced manufacturing settings.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead metallurgical failure analysis and root cause investigations Lead metallurgical failure analysis and root cause investigations supporting manufacturing, quality, and customer claims
- Provide technical metallurgical expertise to production teams, vendors, and cross-functional partners
- Apply metallurgical analysis and modeling to support process optimization and new material applications
- Serve as a technical mentor and SME for early-career engineers
Top Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- Significant industry experience in metals or materials manufacturing environments
- Strong background in failure analysis, applied metallurgy, and manufacturing support
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred; experience in steel or heavy metals manufacturing a plus; exposure to computational modeling; ability to mentor junior engineers
