IT Manager

Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Onsite 4 - 5 days/week)

As the IT Manager , you will play a pivotal role in providing leadership and guidance to the technical support team. This position requires a hands-on approach, as you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our technical support division while also actively participating in resolving technical issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft Windows Server and Client operating systems, as well as expertise in storage technologies. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and management of the Technical Support team.
  • Manage assignments for the tech lead schedule.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and diagnose hardware problems in a timely and professional manner.
  • Actively update, maintain, and monitor all aspects of computer networks.
  • Install and configure computer systems, networking equipment, and applications.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and assist staff in troubleshooting and resolving problems.
  • Provide input during the development of new projects, products, and bids.
  • Assist management in creating training materials pertaining to computer troubleshooting and usage.
  • Work closely with Technical Support Specialists II and service and support teams.
  • Document institutional technical knowledge and assist in the development of technical training curriculum for support staff.
  • Maintain documentation of processes and procedures.
  • Conduct annual employee performance reviews.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Success Factors/Job Competencies:

Must have Lead/Supervisory/management experience.

  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Client operating systems.
  • Proficient in storage technologies such as RAID, NAS, SAN, SATA, SAS.
  • Functional networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, DHCP.
  • Documented security knowledge and experience.
  • Experience with digital video encoding, decoding, and streaming.
  • Knowledge of streaming protocols including RTSP, RTMP, HLS, TS-UDP, SRT, and NDI.
  • Commitment to high-quality service to both clients and fellow team members.
