Linux Administrator
Job Description:
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Linux Administrator with a strong Linux background in Red Hat along with cloud experience. As a Linux Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and troubleshooting our clients Oracle OCI environment, ensuring its performance, availability, and security. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and manage cloud-based solutions, ensuring they align with industry best practices and meet business requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Managed patch management of all Linux servers in the environment.
- Monitor the performance, availability, and capacity of Oracle OCI resources, promptly addressing any issues or anomalies.
- Design, implement, and maintain highly available and scalable architectures.
- Collaborate with application development and infrastructure teams to optimize cloud-based solutions, ensuring high performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Oracle OCI services, Linux operating systems, and associated infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain effective security controls, including access management, data encryption, and compliance with industry regulations.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of new cloud technologies and tools, providing recommendations based on industry trends and best practices.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience as a Linux Administrator with proficiency in Linux operating systems, a deep understanding of Linux internals, command-line tools, shell scripting, and system performance tuning.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of security best practices, including access management, encryption, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications are a plus.
