Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Litigator to join our close-knit team. This role is critical to our firm’s continued success, and the ideal candidate will seamlessly integrate into our collaborative environment. This position requires someone comfortable managing a substantial caseload, handling all phases of litigation, and contributing to our team-oriented approach.

Primary Responsibilities: This position entails managing a diverse caseload of approximately 60-80 cases, ranging from initial demand letters to trials and appeals. The focus will be on civil litigation within the common pleas courts of Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Washington, and Westmoreland counties. While most cases are non-jury trials, some jury trial and federal court experience is a plus. You will be responsible for drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and representing clients in court. A significant aspect of this role involves client communication and billing, particularly justifying costs to insurance adjusters. Active participation in our collaborative office culture, including sharing ideas and supporting colleagues, is essential.

Key Qualifications and Skills: The successful candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and an active Pennsylvania law license, along with 10+ years of experience in civil litigation within the specified Western Pennsylvania counties. Experience with the rules and procedures of Pennsylvania courts, including the appellate system, is essential. A strong courtroom presence and excellent legal writing, research, and analytical skills are also required. Prior experience in insurance defense is highly valued. We are seeking someone with a proven ability to manage a high volume of cases effectively.
