Job Overview:

As an Ocean Export Specialist, you will play a key role in coordinating and managing daily ocean export operations. You'll ensure the smooth flow of freight movement, prepare export documentation, maintain operational accuracy in the system, and uphold service excellence through proactive communication with customers, service providers, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end process for ocean export shipments, ensuring smooth and timely operations.
  • Coordinate with clients, service providers, and internal departments to meet shipment requirements.
  • Prepare and verify export documentation in compliance with international and customs regulations.
  • Work with approved service providers for customs declarations and related government requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the operating system.
  • Monitor shipment progress and provide timely updates to customers.
  • Negotiate space and rates with carriers and service providers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing, validate vendor bills, and manage accruals.
  • Support internal audits, KPI reviews, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with customers, vendors, and partners through responsive and professional communication.
  • Assist the manager in rate requests, business transitions, and customer escalations when required.
  • Any tasks and assignments assigned by superior.

What Were Looking For:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in ocean import/export operations within a freight forwarding company.
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping procedures, documentation, and Incoterms.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and freight management systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and time management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A motivated team player with a professional attitude and a commitment to service excellence.
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field is preferred. (At least Diploma is required)
