Job Overview
As an Assistant Manager, Accounting, you will be responsible for overseeing the full spectrum of accounting functions, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. You will lead and guide the accounting team, support management decision-making through financial analysis, insight, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain effective financial controls and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions, including General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, and month-end closing activities.
- Review and ensure the accuracy of accounting entries, reconciliations, and financial transactions.
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Prepare financial analysis, variance reports, and business performance insights for management review.
- Assist in annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning exercises.
- Monitor cash flow positions and prepare cash flow forecasts to support operational and strategic planning.
- Ensure timely collection of receivables and effective management of payables.
- Oversee cashiering activities, bank reconciliations, and treasury-related functions.
- Manage inter-company transactions, reconciliations, settlements, and issue resolution.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Coordinate and liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, bankers, and regulatory authorities.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely submission of required documentation.
- Review accounting processes and implement improvements to strengthen internal controls and operational efficiency.
- Supervise, guide, and mentor accounting team members to ensure high performance and continuous development.
- Delegate tasks effectively, monitor team deliverables, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Provide leadership and support to the finance team in resolving operational and accounting issues.
- Undertake ad-hoc assignments and finance-related projects as assigned by management.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ICAEW, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior specialist role.
- Mandarin-speaking is an advantage to work closely with Regional Finance Team in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Greater China.
- Strong knowledge of full-set accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, or multinational environments is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide business insights.
- Good understanding of accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong leadership, communication, planning and stakeholder management skills.
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
