Job Overview:
The Seafreight Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating seafreight operations for an international freight forwarding company. This role involves managing relationships with shipping lines, agents, and forwarding agents, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, leading a team, and overseeing costing and profitability of seafreight shipments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage seafreight import/export operations, ensuring timely and smooth cargo movement.
  • Liaise with shipping lines, overseas agents, and forwarding partners to negotiate rates, secure bookings, and resolve operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
  • Lead, train, and supervise a team of seafreight coordinators to foster a high-performance work environment.
  • Oversee seafreight costing, including rate quotations, invoicing, and profitability analysis.
  • Monitor shipment status, troubleshoot delays or discrepancies, and provide updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records for all seafreight transactions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and other departments to meet client expectations and operational goals.

What Were Looking For:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in seafreight operations, logistics, or freight forwarding.
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs compliance.
  • Experience in rate negotiations, cost management, and profitability analysis.
  • Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
