Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Portfolio Management: Take full ownership of a diverse portfolio of civil engineering projects—spanning bridges, structures, site formation, and roadworks
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Provide decisive strategic direction across design, construction, commercial, and site operations, ensuring seamless alignment and collaboration between all project functions.
- Planning & Risk Oversight: Direct comprehensive project planning, resource optimization, scheduling, and proactive risk mitigation to maintain stability across the entire portfolio.
- Delivery & Compliance: Guarantee that all projects are executed safely, on schedule, and within budget, while rigorously upholding statutory regulations, contractual obligations, and stringent quality benchmarks.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary strategic liaison for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and authorities, cultivating strong, trust-based relationships that facilitate smooth project progression.
- Commercial & Financial Control: Closely monitor commercial performance, enforce cost discipline, adeptly manage contract variations, and implement value-engineering strategies to maximize overall project profitability.
- Executive Reporting: Deliver regular, transparent updates to senior leadership on project milestones, risk registers, emerging opportunities, and financial performance metrics.
Requirements
- Academic & Professional Standing: Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline; professional chartership (e.g., MHKIE, MICE) is highly preferred.
- Senior-Level Experience: Minimum 15–20 years of progressive experience in civil engineering construction, with substantial tenure operating at Project Manager or Project Director level.
- Project Portfolio: Proven track record of successfully delivering major bridge, marine, site formation, and/or roadworks projects, ideally within the Hong Kong market or similarly complex, high-density environments.
- Multi-Project Agility: Demonstrated ability to balance and manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously while maintaining strict control over program timelines, cost margins, and deliverable quality.
- Regulatory & Contract Knowledge: Thorough working knowledge of local construction regulations, standard contract forms (e.g., GCC, NEC), and current industry best practices.
- Communication Skills: Excellent command of written and spoken English is strongly preferred.
