The Video Surveillance Engineer designs and delivers complete IP video and access control systems from job walk through commissioning. This role blends technical engineering with customer engagement — you'll be onsite for surveys, leading installs, configuring systems, and training end users. If you know surveillance platforms inside and out and want ownership of projects from start to finish, this is the role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct customer site surveys and job walks; document requirements thoroughly
  • Design complete access control and IP video surveillance systems tailored to customer needs
  • Develop detailed proposals including scope of work, bill of materials, and labor estimates
  • Oversee field installation of awarded projects and coordinate with install crews
  • Configure and commission all system components prior to customer handoff
  • Provide on-site system demonstrations and end-user training
  • Assist customers with recorded video investigations upon request
  • Monitor and troubleshoot deployed systems remotely and on-site
  • Produce as-built drawings in AutoCAD or Microsoft Visio when required
  • Support escalated troubleshooting across customer technology environments
  • Available for off-hours, weekend, and holiday support as project needs arise

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive access control and video surveillance system design experience
  • Expert knowledge of Milestone Systems or OnSSI VMS platforms
  • Experience with IP cameras from Axis, Avigilon, Arecont, and comparable manufacturers
  • Solid foundation in low-voltage wiring and IP network infrastructure
  • Proficiency across Windows desktop and server operating environments
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS

  • Milestone Systems or OnSSI Advanced Certification
  • Axis Network Video Certification
  • S2 Systems Certification
  • Cisco IP Video Surveillance Systems Certification

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION

  • Pay range: $70,000 – $108,000
