Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Foreman to lead commercial security and infrastructure cabling projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structured cabling, access control, CCTV, and low voltage systems while overseeing crews and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

This role requires hands-on leadership, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to coordinate directly with Project Managers, customers, and field technicians. Candidates who are open to travel are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise low voltage technicians on commercial installation projects
  • Execute project plans while maintaining quality standards and project schedules
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and pre-work site walkthroughs
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, riser diagrams, and construction documents
  • Troubleshoot installation issues and provide technical guidance to field personnel
  • Document daily progress with reports, notes, and project photos
  • Install and oversee structured cabling systems including CAT5e, CAT6, fiber optic, and coaxial cabling
  • Install cable pathways including ladder racks, cable trays, J-hooks, racks, cabinets, and firestopping systems
  • Organize and label telecommunications rooms, IDFs, MDFs, and backbone cabling
  • Perform cable terminations on jacks, patch panels, 66 blocks, and 110 blocks
  • Test and certify copper and fiber optic cabling installations
  • Install and commission access control, CCTV, security, and network infrastructure systems
  • Rack and stack network equipment, servers, cabinets, and patch panels
  • Coordinate with Project Managers to ensure project milestones are achieved

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in structured cabling, security, access control, AV, or low voltage systems
  • Previous experience leading crews and managing commercial projects
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings
  • Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling installations
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and occasional out-of-town assignments
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Must provide basic hand tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification
  • BICSI Certification
  • First Aid/CPR Certification
  • Experience with enterprise security and access control systems
  • Experience working on large commercial construction projects
  • Willingness to travel

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, stooping, and using ladders and scaffolds.
  • Ability to identify colored wires and use fine motor skills for cabling work.
  • Occasional lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds, and moving up to 50 pounds.
