About the job Traveling Electrician
We are hiring at all experience levels — helpers/spotters, journeyman electricians, and licensed leads. If you are a road warrior who is ready to travel, work hard, and earn strong pay with per diem on top, we want to talk to you. Candidates must be based in or willing to deploy from the Midwest. Orientation takes place in Lowell, Arkansas within the next 2–3 weeks, with deployment immediately following. Work is predominantly nights — most sites run 7p–7a with 12–15+ hour shifts and variable start times. Flexibility with scheduling is non-negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform or assist with electrical installations, upgrades, and system retrofits in commercial and industrial environments
- Install wiring, panels, conduit, lighting systems, and associated components per project scope
- Complete system upgrades, code corrections, and infrastructure retrofits on active sites
- Conduct functional and safety testing on installed electrical systems
- Submit daily deliverables including signed checklists, photos, and as-built documentation
- Ensure all work complies with NEC and applicable local, state, and federal codes
- Maintain a safe, organized worksite and follow all PPE and safety requirements
- Work effectively as part of a 3-person traveling team with minimal supervision
- Lead-level candidates will be responsible for crew management, documentation oversight, and field software use with remote support
Required Qualifications
- Electrical experience at any level — helper through licensed lead
- Licensed Journeyman or Master Electrician required for electrician and lead roles
- Must be 21 or older with a valid driver's license and a clean MVR — driving record will be verified
- Able to pass a background check and drug screen
- Disclose any prior Amazon work history and whether a yellow badge was obtained
- Willing and able to travel extensively — this is a road warrior role with ongoing deployment
- Flexible with shift scheduling including nights, weekends, and non-traditional hours
- Able to work at heights and operate boom lifts and scissor lifts as needed
- Must report to Lowell, AR for orientation — personal vehicle required to get there, company vehicle provided after
Preferred Qualifications
- Controls experience at any level
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- Boom lift and scissor lift certifications
- Multi-state electrical licensing
- Prior experience on large-scale distribution, logistics, or industrial facility projects
Benefits and Compensation
- Pay: $20–$50/hr based on experience and licensure
- Per diem: $125/day when overnight travel is required

Roles and Pay
- Helper / Apprentice — $20–$30/hr: Apprentice-level candidates who can assist with wire pulling and conduit work. This is a support role for electricians on site.
- Electrician — $30–$40/hr: Solid commercial installation experience required. Non-licensed candidates qualify at the lower end of the range. Licensed journeymen qualify at $35–$40.
- Lead Electrician — $40–$50/hr: Licensed journeyman or master electrician required. Must have experience leading a crew of 5 or more. The $45–$50 range is reserved for top-tier licensed leads.
Controls experience is a strong asset at any level and will be noted in your favor.
