About the job Low Voltage Installer
The Low Voltage Installer will support a new construction data center build-out, focused on copper and fiber cabling, security rough-in, and A/V rough-in. This role is hands-on and production-driven, ideal for technicians with solid structured cabling experience who can work independently with minimal direction. The position is primarily a day shift, Monday through Friday, with some Saturday shifts as needed. There will be potential overtime depending on project needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structured cabling installations for new construction data center projects
- Pull, dress, label, and terminate Cat 6 copper cabling in accordance with TIA/EIA standards
- Install J-hook pathways, cable tray, and conduit as required
- Support fiber optic work, including terminating, testing, and splicing (as skill level allows)
- Perform cable testing using Fluke testers and related tools
- Assist with security and A/V rough-in work as part of the overall build-out
- Read and interpret basic prints, layouts, and scope documents
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, project leads, and team members
- Follow all job site safety policies and procedures
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 or 2 years of hands-on low-voltage data cabling experience
- Strong experience with cable pulling, Cat 6 termination, and structured cabling work
- Experience with conduit installation and J-hook pathways
- Fiber experience (terminating, testing, splicing) strongly preferred
- Comfortable working independently and staying productive with limited direction
- Strong communication skills and reliability on active job sites
- OSHA 10 certification required
- Ability to work day shift with flexibility for overtime as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work on ladders, and operate in construction environments
- Supervisor reference required and must be entered in ICIMS
Benefits and Compensation
- Pay range: $22–$25 per hour, based on experience
- Weekly pay
- Monday through Friday, 10-hour days, and Saturday, 8-hour days. You could be asked to work both first and/or second shift, so you MUST be okay with both
