We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fire Alarm Project Technician to join our team. Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and upgrade fire alarm systems; program control panels using building plans and electrical layouts
- Mount sensors and perform installation tasks (e.g., drilling holes, accessing crawlspaces/attics)
- Ensure all work complies with current codes and safety regulations
- Run low-voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including conduit work and drilling through concrete walls
- Complete wiring, connections, and equipment installations in compliance with electrical and fire codes
- Test and verify functionality of newly installed fire alarm systems and components
- Troubleshoot installations to ensure proper operation and compliance with local, state, and federal codes, as well as insurance requirements
Requirements:
- Fire Alarm License and/or NICET II certification (preferred, not required)
- Willingness and availability to travel as needed
- Current/valid state-required Physical Security and/or Life Safety license in applicable technology
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and site maps
- Knowledge of NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and NFPA 72
- Experience with burglar alarms, access control, and CCTV (a plus)
- Strong customer service and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Certification to operate boom/scissor lifts; ability to work at heights
- Possession of basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the last 3 years)
