We are a national construction and infrastructure services firm operating at the leading edge of large-scale data center builds. Our team delivers mission-critical projects for some of the most demanding clients in the industry, with a focus on precision, documentation, and uncompromising quality standards. We are currently building out a major data center campus in Montgomery, AL and are looking for a seasoned structured cabling quality leader to join the team.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Structured Cabling Leader to own quality assurance and quality control for a large-scale cabling infrastructure deployment at a hyperscale data center facility in Montgomery, AL. Reporting to senior RCDD-credentialed project leadership, this role is the primary quality authority on the structured cabling scope — ensuring all cabling contractors perform to specification, documentation is complete and accurate, and the finished infrastructure meets the standards required for a mission-critical data center environment. This is a high-visibility role on a marquee project with a long runway.
Relocation assistance of is available for the right candidate. This is a one-time, front-loaded package.
Key Responsibilities
- Own QA/QC oversight for the full structured cabling scope across the data center facility from rough-in through certification and turnover
- Review, interpret, and enforce cabling standards and project specifications with all structured cabling contractors performing work on site
- Conduct regular quality control inspections of copper and fiber cabling installations, terminations, labeling, and test documentation
- Audit cabling contractor submittals, test reports, as-builts, and certification records for accuracy and specification compliance
- Identify deficiencies, issue non-conformance reports, and track corrective actions through to resolution
- Serve as the day-to-day QA/QC interface between structured cabling contractors and senior project leadership
- Maintain organized inspection logs, quality records, and cabling documentation throughout all phases of the data center build
- Coordinate with project engineers and RCDD leadership to interpret specifications, resolve field conflicts, and validate installation methods
- Ensure all structured cabling work meets BICSI standards, TIA-568, TIA-942, and end-user requirements for a hyperscale data center environment
- Attend project meetings and provide regular QA/QC status reporting to the project management team
- Support commissioning activities and infrastructure verification during final build-out and turnover phases
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in structured cabling, low voltage infrastructure, or data center cabling roles
- Strong background in QA/QC, quality inspections, and cabling contractor oversight on large commercial or mission-critical projects
- Deep knowledge of copper and fiber cabling systems, termination standards, testing procedures, and certification requirements
- Familiarity with BICSI standards, TIA-568, TIA-942, and data center infrastructure best practices
- Experience reading and interpreting structured cabling drawings, specifications, and installation documentation
- Ability to manage multiple cabling contractors simultaneously and hold field teams accountable to quality and specification requirements
- Strong documentation skills — organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing high volumes of QA/QC records across a large cabling program
- RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) credential strongly preferred
- Valid driver's license required

- Base salary: $120,000 - $135,000 depending on experience
