We are seeking an experienced Low Voltage Access Control Lead Project Technician to join our team for long- and short-term projects in the Scranton, PA area. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data, voice, alarm, video, and paging systems, and be capable of leading small project teams while ensuring high-quality installations and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain various low voltage cabling infrastructures.
  • Perform installation of IP cameras, access control systems, and related hardware.
  • Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling through concrete walls and limited conduit work.
  • Ensure all cables are neatly tied, labeled, and bundled according to safety and industry standards.
  • Install cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct.
  • Conduct testing to ensure all newly installed cable systems and component devices are operational.
  • Troubleshoot issues with cable networks to ensure system performance and compliance with codes and safety standards.
  • Adhere to all required project safety regulations and company policies.
  • Provide regular updates to project management on progress, challenges, and objectives.
  • Lead small teams of 28 technicians, providing daily direction, training, and quality oversight.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Low Voltage Cable Technician with hands-on work in CAT5e, fiber optic, and network cabling.
  • Knowledge and experience with CCTV, Security Systems, and Alarm Systems preferred.
  • Industry certifications (BICSI, Siemon, Panduit, Belden, Corning) are a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site maps, and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience with CCTV, voice, and data cabling; MDF/IDF build-outs; and system closeouts.
  • Capable of identifying and working with color codes and cabling standards.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and operate boom or scissor lifts at height.
  • Must possess basic telecommunications tools, PPE, and reliable transportation.
  • Proficiency in using smartphones, computers, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent customer service, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record (no DUI/DWI in the last three years).
  • Experience with conduit installation is a plus.
  • Must be flexible to work nights, weekends, and on-call shifts as required.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project assignments (per diem provided for overnight travel).
