Job Title: Building Automation Controls Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Building Automation Controls Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining building automation systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. Experience with Niagara, Tridium, Distech, Alerton, and JCI Metasys systems is highly sought after. This position offers growth opportunities, ranging from entry-level to senior roles based on experience and expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct installation and commissioning activities, including control system setup, network configuration, and equipment integration
- Program and configure DDC controls and building automation systems
- Collaborate with project managers and installation teams to complete projects on time and within budget
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues related to DDC control and mechanical systems
- Ensure all installation activities are performed according to project specifications and industry standards involving Building Automation Controls installation and service
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of installation processes and project progress
- Communicate regularly with the team (supervisor, project coordinator, account managers) and clients
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and codes
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience and/or certifications with Niagara, Tridium, Distech, Alerton, or JCI Metasys systems.
- High school diploma required; a two-year technical degree in HVAC, Electronics, or a related field preferred.
- Undergraduate degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is a plus.
- Relevant technical experience, including military training or on-the-job programs, may be considered.
- Proficiency in computer operating systems and MS Office Suite.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for computer, networking, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Familiarity with HVAC operations and DDC systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical/electronic diagrams and work with AC power circuitry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to empathize with customers and team members, resolving issues effectively.
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., including ladders, tools, and equipment.
- Comfortable working on construction sites, including standing, walking, climbing stairs or ladders, kneeling, and crawling.
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record as per company vehicle policy.
