Job Title: Fiber Technician (Short-Term Project)

Duration: 4 Weeks
Pay Range: $30 $32/hour (Based on Experience)
Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:30 AM 3:30 PM
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Fiber Technician for a short-term project located on a military base in Kaneohe, Hawaii. This role involves fiber splicing, cable running, and fiber testing using an OTDR. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or as part of a small team.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform fiber optic cable splicing and terminations

Run, pull, and route fiber optic cables as needed

Conduct OTDR and light source/power meter testing to verify fiber integrity

Troubleshoot and resolve fiber-related issues

Maintain clean and organized work areas and adhere to safety protocols

Accurately document work performed and results of tests
Requirements:

Proven experience with fiber splicing, cable installation, and OTDR testing

Ability to read and interpret network diagrams and installation schematics

Must be able to pass a background check for base access (no felonies or disqualifying offenses)

Reliable transportation to and from the job site

Must be able to work full project duration and adhere to schedule
Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience working on military or secure government sites

Certifications in fiber optics or telecommunications
Additional Notes:

This is a contract position expected to last approximately 4 weeks

All tools and equipment required for fiber work will be provided on-site
