Job Title: SCADA Engineer

Salary Range:

$100,000 $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Position Overview:

The SCADA Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of SCADA systems using Inductive Automations Ignition platform (Perspective and Vision). This role includes integrating with PLCs, developing user interfaces, configuring alarms and reports, and providing end-to-end project support. You will work closely with customers to define project requirements and ensure the delivery of scalable and efficient solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients to define SCADA system requirements and process improvement opportunities

  • Design and develop Ignition Perspective and Vision applications for industrial and HVAC systems

  • Integrate systems using protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and Ethernet/IP

  • Create and maintain user interfaces, reports, alarm systems, and SQL database interactions

  • Write and maintain Python scripts and utilize Ignitions Expression Language

  • Produce technical documentation throughout project lifecycle

  • Conduct testing, deployment, and ongoing application support

  • Participate in and lead project teams across various industries and environments

  • Provide mentorship to junior team members

  • Travel up to 30% to customer sites for planning, implementation, and support

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition SCADA

    • Core Certification (Gold Certification preferred)

    • Development experience with Perspective and Vision modules

  • Proficiency in Python and understanding of Ignitions scripting environment

  • Hands-on experience integrating Ignition with PLCs using Modbus and BACnet

  • Strong understanding of BAS (Building Automation Systems) and industrial process controls

  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, and control schematics

  • Working knowledge of SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server)

  • Familiarity with IT networking principles and communication protocols

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Systems, Controls, Software, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or Computer Science

  • Experience with Tridium or similar BAS platforms

  • Exposure to Active Directory, SAML 2.0, and IT integration

  • Familiarity with DDC control systems
