We are currently hiring a Fiber Technician for full-time project and service assignments. This role involves leading structured cabling installations, coordinating small crews, and ensuring proper execution of commercial low-voltage projects. Travel may be required within a 46 hour radius of your home base, and candidates must be reliable, experienced, and capable of working both independently and in team settings.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead structured cabling installations, including assigning tasks to crew members and ensuring timelines are met

· Install, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling systems

· Install cable pathway systems such as J-hooks, cable trays, and conduit

· Perform troubleshooting, testing, and certification of cabling systems using Fluke or similar testers

· Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring schematics

· Ensure job site safety, proper cable management, and adherence to building codes and standards

· Coordinate material deliveries, site readiness, and client communication when required

· Complete documentation including as-builts, test results, and daily work logs

· Travel as needed to job sites using a company vehicle or personal vehicle (with mileage reimbursement)

· Assist in related tasks involving CCTV, access control, or infrastructure buildouts when needed

Requirements:

· 3+ years of structured cabling experience in commercial or industrial environments

· Ability to lead and train junior technicians and manage small crews on site

· Proficient in pulling, dressing, terminating, and testing low-voltage cables

· Experience with copper (Cat5e/Cat6), fiber optic (single/multimode), and coaxial cabling

· Skilled in use of cable testers, labeling tools, and industry-standard hand tools

· Familiarity with firestopping, core drilling, and running conduit (EMT, flex) is a plus

· Ability to work from heights using ladders, lifts, and in confined spaces

· Own PPE and basic hand tools; OSHA 10 preferred

· Strong communication skills and ability to interface with clients and GC reps

· Valid drivers license with a clean driving record

Preferred Skills (Not Required):

· Experience with CCTV, access control, paging, or AV installations

· Understanding of BICSI standards and best practices

· Certifications such as BICSI Installer, OSHA 30, or manufacturer-specific training
