Position Overview
Short Term Project (1-2 months) - We're seeking qualified Cable Technicians to support commercial installations of structured cabling systems. This is an entry- to mid-level role focused on pulling and terminating copper cabling, working in active job sites, and representing the company professionally while on-site.
Ideal candidates enjoy hands-on work, are comfortable around customers, and bring a strong work ethic with a positive attitude. If you have experience pulling wire, using punch down tools, and are eager to grow your skills in the field especially with fiber or rack builds you'll be a great fit.
Key Responsibilities
- Pull Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6a cabling through conduit, walls, and ceilings
- Terminate RJ45 connectors using punch down tools
- Use Fluke meters and tone generators to test and label cables
- Assist with fiber cable pulls and rack builds (if experienced)
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Follow site safety procedures and communicate with foremen or leads
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients and partners
- Help uphold a strong job site culture through accountability and positive behavior
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in structured cabling or similar field work
- Familiarity with using basic hand tools and punch down tools
- Ability to lift heavy equipment, work on ladders, and navigate job sites
- Basic understanding of cable testing tools like Fluke meters or toners
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Positive attitude, team mindset, and willingness to learn
- Fiber pulling and rack-building experience is a major plus
- Must be dependable and take pride in doing the right thingeven when unsupervised
