Job Summary

We seek an experienced Security System Specialist II to support the installation, startup, commissioning, and servicing of advanced building security and special systems. This hands-on technical role requires strong troubleshooting abilities, field experience, and familiarity with industry-standard platforms such as Lenel and Genetec.

You will play a critical role in delivering reliable, code-compliant solutions to commercial and industrial clients while working closely with installation and service teams in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform system startup and commissioning, including point-to-point checkout and alarm/device verification

  • Troubleshoot installation, configuration, and service-related issues

  • Provide technical support to installation teams and site contractors

  • Ensure proper backups of all software and system configurations

  • Maintain and service existing systems to ensure compliance and operational integrity

  • Assist in the creation of as-built drawings and operation & maintenance manuals

  • Help transition projects from operations to service

  • Support the sales team during estimating and demonstration phases as needed

  • Participate in on-call emergency response rotations

  • Accurately complete work orders, service reports, and time entries

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience installing and servicing security systems

  • Proficiency with Lenel and Genetec platforms

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

  • Skilled in using electronic testing tools such as volt meters and oscilloscopes

  • Ability to read and interpret electronic/electrical schematics

  • Understanding of AC power systems, breakers, and multi-phase configurations

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred:

  • Associate degree or technical certification in a relevant field

  • Certifications in Lenel, Genetec, or Avigilon

  • Over 5 years of experience with Lenel or Genetec systems

Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs

  • Stand, walk, and climb stairs/ladders on construction sites

  • Kneel, stoop, and crawl in confined spaces

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record per company policy

Compensation

  • $45.00 $52.00 per hour, depending on experience and certifications
