We are seeking experienced Low Voltage Technicians with a strong background in structured cabling and fiber to support work in an active healthcare environment in Sterling, Virginia. This role focuses on testing, verifying, and documenting fiber and low-voltage cabling while maintaining strict compliance with site safety and documentation standards.

The ideal candidate has hands-on fiber experience and is comfortable working independently in occupied hospital settings where accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail are critical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Test, trace, and verify fiber optic cabling using approved testing equipment

  • Perform structured cabling tasks including fiber pulling, splicing, and termination

  • Identify and document cable-to-device connections using client-approved labeling standards

  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, as-builts, and network schematics

  • Maintain accurate documentation of cabling layouts and test results

  • Adhere to hospital safety, security, and infection control protocols at all times

  • Escalate discrepancies, conflicts, or out-of-scope findings to field leadership

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience with fiber optic cabling, including pulling, splicing, and testing

  • Background in structured cabling and low voltage environments

  • Experience working in hospitals, healthcare facilities, or other occupied sites

  • Familiarity with CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber cabling standards

  • Proficient with fiber testers, labeling tools, and documentation practices

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 2+ years of low voltage or structured cabling experience with fiber exposure

  • Ability to independently test, verify, and document fiber cabling

  • U.S. citizenship required

  • Must present a valid passport or birth certificate on the first day

  • Reliable transportation and consistent onsite availability

  • Professional demeanor appropriate for healthcare environments
