401(k) Retirement Administrator
Job Description:
Seeking a data and systems focused 401(k) Retirement Administrator to work on a large, complicated plan with about 15K employees from over 300 companies. Our firm has a reputation for service, quality, and expertise in the design, implementation and ongoing administration of retirement plans.
Responsibilities and Duties :
Consulting
- Keep Client apprised of Legislative actions affecting qualified plans
- Provide timely updates on annual compliance services
- Coordinate with Financial Advisor and Recordkeeper to investigate, prepare and present plan changes
- Work with client staff to identify and test modifications to programs for payroll, payroll integration, demographic data uploads resulting from regulatory changes, conversions, payroll modifications
- Consult with client legal and ERISA council concerning Plan changes, error identification and correction, and DOL/IRS audits
General Data Processing
- Review/correct demographic upload errors
- Assist client with payroll uploads
- Assist client with Service Requests to correct SSNs, research vesting questions, etc.
- Prepare files to upload late deposit corrections
- Calculate and prepare files to upload missed deferral opportunities
Annual Compliance and Administration
- Review Processing Guide files covering Data Loading, Controlled Group Analysis, and Top Heavy
- Reconciliation of compensation and contributions
- Determination of pre-entry compensation
- Calculation of Match true-up
- Separate 402(g) excess for each participant by company
- Run HCE determinations and ADP/ACP testing, including review of whether aggregated or disaggregated method provides best result. (Initial correction will always be QNEC)
Qualification/Requirements:
- Four year college degree in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting, Mathematics, Finance and/or Economics
- 2-5 years experience in retirement industry, with a strong focus in data and system management
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat software
- Acute attention to detail, accuracy and quality of work
- Strong math and research skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and also collaborate as part of a team
- Effective time management, project management and organizational skills
