Position Summary:

The role of the Project Engineer is to execute a variety of projects for the diverse clientele that utilize Prime Solutions as a Managed Services Provider. This position focuses on delivering projects according to scope utilizing Microsoft Server, M365 products and Azure cloud services. Prime's primary goal is to deliver client delight with each solution.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the execution of IT projects, including hardware and software implementations, network upgrades, and system migrations.
  • Staging of several types of technology including Desktops, Laptops, POS systems, Server hardware, networking including wireless, switching and firewalls.
  • Installation of hardware at the customer site.
  • Installation of software including Hypervisor technologies and OS level.
  • Migration and support of customer specific applications.
  • Work with Project Managers to identify tasks and timelines for completion.
  • Provide clients with updates and set expectations for work to be completed.
  • Provide technical support to clients during project implementations.
  • Posting time entries accurately to tickets and tasks using Prime's ticketing system.
  • Create and maintain project documentation using Prime's documentation tool, including technical specifications, configurations, and support documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including senior engineers, sales, and support, to ensure seamless project coordination.
  • Perform any additional job duties as requested by management to contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of MS Server including Group Policy, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
  • Understanding of server hardware including Raid and Idrac Technlogies.
  • Basic knowledge of Networking including wireless, wired and Firewalls.
  • Basic knowledge of M365 products and services.
  • Basic knowledge of how backups work.
  • Azure cloud technologies, Virtualization Technologies including VMware ESXI and MS Hyper-V. Bonus skill
  • Backup platforms including Veeam and Datto Ticketing systems. Bonus skill
  • Demonstrate initiative, independent judgment, ability to work under high pressure situations, and utilize established procedures to address client needs.
  • Strong customer service skills required.
  • After hours and weekend hours required
  • Participation in rotating on-call program.
  • Ability to be a trusted advisor to clients; effectively relay information to non-technical clients Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment, manage competing demands and deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Ability to lift over 50 lbs.
  • Possess a valid drivers license.

  • 2 years of server experience installing and supporting:
  • VMware Esxi
  • Windows server including
  • GPOs
  • AD
  • DHCP and DNS
  • Server hardware
  • Backup configuration
  • Datto
  • Veeam
  • Application migrations
  • 1 Year of network installation and support including
  • Firewalls
  • Switches
  • Wireless including:
  • SSID configuration
  • Network planning.
  • 1 year of M365 installation and support including:
  • User migrations
  • Azure AD and Azure AD connect installation and support.
  • MFA Deployments
  • Intune
  • Conditional access
