, Permanent Chief Steward Princess Hotels & Resorts Jamaica is seeking an experienced Chief Steward to join our team. The Chief Steward is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the stewarding department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation are maintained, and providing leadership and direction to the staff. Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate all activities of the stewarding department, including dishwashing, pot washing, cleaning, and maintenance of kitchen equipment Ensure that the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation are maintained in all areas of the kitchen Monitor and inspect all areas of the kitchen to ensure proper sanitation procedures are followed Train and develop staff to ensure they are knowledgeable about safety and sanitation procedures Ensure all staff are adhering to safety and sanitation procedures Monitor and order necessary supplies and equipment Maintain records of all activities and expenses Maintain a safe working environment Assist with the development of menus and recipes Assist in the preparation of food as needed Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in a supervisory role in a kitchen environment Knowledge of safety and sanitation procedures Excellent organizational and communication skills Ability to work well under pressure Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks Ability to work a flexible schedule This is a full-time, permanent position with competitive wages and benefits.
