Job Summary:

The Butler Supervisor plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional and personalized service to VIP and Platinum-level guests. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the butler team, ensuring consistent excellence in guest service, and maintaining the highest standards of hospitality. The Butler Supervisor ensures that each guest receives a luxurious and seamless experience from arrival to departure.

Knowledge/Requirements/Experience:

  • Minimum 23 years of experience in a luxury hotel environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or senior butler role.
  • Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
  • Butler training certification is an asset.
  • Knowledge of luxury service protocols and personalized guest service.
  • Strong computer proficiency (MS Office, PMS systems such as Opera, Protel, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with CRM systems to record guest preferences and histories.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
  • Knowledge of VIP service standards and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in handling confidential information with integrity.
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
  • Fluent in English (oral and written).
  • Additional languages (Spanish, French, etc.) are a strong advantage, especially in a multicultural guest environment.

Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train, and support the butler team in delivering personalized, anticipatory, and discreet service to Platinum guests.
  • Coordinate VIP arrivals and departures, ensuring smooth check-in/check-out experiences and special welcome/farewell arrangements.
  • Liaise with departments such as Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Concierge to meet the unique needs of Platinum guests.
  • Conduct regular inspections of rooms and suites to ensure Platinum standards are met and exceeded.
  • Handle guest requests and concerns promptly, professionally, and with a focus on satisfaction and resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records of guest preferences and ensure these are effectively communicated and implemented by the team.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on team performance, guest feedback, and operational challenges.
  • Monitor team schedules and manage shift coverage to ensure optimal service at all times.
  • Manage inventory of butler supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is well-maintained and replenished.
  • Ensure compliance with all hotel policies, safety, and hygiene standards.
  • Assist in developing service enhancements and packages for VIP guests.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between Platinum services and other hotel departments during high-demand periods or special events.
  • Participate in recruitment, training, and performance evaluations for butler team members.
