Turner Machinist - Junior

Our client is seeking a motivated and hardworking Junior Turner Machinist to join our engineering/workshop team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in precision machining and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Operate conventional lathe machines and turning equipment under supervision
• Read and interpret basic engineering drawings and measurements
• Manufacture, repair, and machine components to required tolerances
• Assist senior machinists with setup and production tasks
• Use measuring tools such as verniers, micrometers, and gauges
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and follow safety procedures
• Perform routine machine maintenance and report faults
• Ensure quality standards are met on all finished parts

Personal Attributes: 

• Matric / Grade 12
• Technical qualification in machining, fitting & turning, or related trade (advantageous)
• Basic experience working with lathes or in a machine shop environment
• Ability to read measuring instruments accurately
• Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Willingness to learn and grow in the trade
• Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
