We are seeking a dynamic and driven Business Development Manager to join a growing interior design company. This role is pivotal in expanding our market presence and building strong, long-term client relationships across Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Key Responsibilities Include: 

  • As the Business Development Manager, your primary focus will be to generate and develop new business opportunities for the company through a variety of strategic and proactive approaches, including:
  • Researching, identifying, and adding qualified prospects to the company's sales pipeline
  • Developing and managing strategic partnerships to drive business growth
  • Promoting the company's products and interior design services to potential clients
  • Attending and hosting networking events, including after-hours functions when required
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key industry stakeholders such as Property Developers, Asset Managers, Leasing Agents, Landlords, Brokers, and direct clients
  • Cold canvassing targeted buildings and commercial areas to identify opportunities
  • Conducting cold calls based on market intelligence, including media reports such as mergers, relocations, or expansions
  • Creating and maintaining a detailed client database, including contact information, property requirements, and lease expiry tracking
  • Supporting any additional tasks deemed appropriate by management

Personal Attributes: 

  • Proven experience in business development or sales, ideally within interiors, property, design, or related industries
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills
  • Confident in cold calling and proactive lead generation
  • Highly organised with strong CRM/database management ability
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and entrepreneurial in approach
  • Willingness to travel and attend after-hours networking events
