Position Description

Role Title: Project Manager Structural Remediation
Reports to: Superintendent Structural Remediation
Location: GEMCO Groote Eylandt

Roster: 4/3 FIFO (Monday Thursday day shifts)

Embarkment: Cairns, Darwin or Relocation to Groote Eylandt
Function: Structural Engineering
Engagement: Initial 6-month contract to roll over into a permanent position

Purpose of the Role

The Project Manager Structural Remediation is responsible for delivering the annual remediation program in line with the approved budget and schedule from the multi-year plan. This includes leading technical engineering resources to scope, design, and implement practical structural solutions that return defect areas to service for the life of the facility. The role also manages the site-based workforce and offsite engineering support to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of remediation works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the scoping, detailed planning, and execution of remediation projects.
  • Lead the site-based SIP team, including engineers, technical support, supervisors, and trade labour.
  • Coordinate with the offsite engineering support team to ensure alignment and delivery.
  • Oversee the safe and efficient execution of the annual remediation works program.
  • Develop and manage annual and long-term budget forecasts.
  • Drive business improvement by:
    • Increasing asset availability through optimised scheduling.
    • Controlling asset maintenance costs.
    • Implementing productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Maintenance Execution & Planning, Production, Engineering, and Operations.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, OR
  • Relevant trade qualification with project management certification.

Minimum Experience

  • 5-7 years experience in project management within a similar industry.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Conversant with basic SAP functionality.
  • Advanced Microsoft Project skills.

  • Safe, timely, and efficient delivery of projects within scope and budget.
  • Positive feedback from execution teams and stakeholders.
  • Improved asset availability and cost control.
  • Achievement of annual and long-term remediation program objectives.
